Aamir Khan ready for onscreen villainy in 'Dhoom 3'!

Aamir Khan never steps forth on a new venture without sufficient preparation. That explains why he’s taken so long in giving his nod to the filming of Dhoom 3.

The superstar has been preparing arduously for his role in the film. He’s been working out rigorously and learning the acrobatics as well. Understandably he plays a sly thief who keeps giving the copper (Abhishek Bachchan) the slip with his elusive ways.

While other actors had begun filming for Dhoom 3 quite some time back, Aamir Khan had been dithering. Known to do one project at a time, he’s been caught up with the filming of the climax of Reema Kagti’s film Talaash, following by his conscience-rattler of a show, Satyamev Jayate.

Now, at long last, Aamir Khan has told producer Aditya Chopra that he’s ready to shoot for Dhoom 3 in which he pairs with Katrina Kaif.

From what we hear, Aamir Khan will be available for shoot from June 29 onwards. He will first shoot for five days at Yash Raj Studios in Andheri, but then will fly to Chicago to film the action sequences.

It appears that producer Aditya Chopra, director Victor Acharya and Aamir Khan are of unanimous view that a majority of the actor’s scenes should be filmed in Chicago, because they want to keep secret the character’s look.

Aamir Khan wants Rajinikanth in ‘Dhoom 3’!

                                                                 Aamir Khan & Rajnikant

Now Aamir Khan wants to work with Rajinikanth. The actor is very keen to rope in the superstar for his filmDhoom 3. Apparently he is even trying to meet Rajini Sir to convince him to star in the film.

However, it seems not a herculean task to get the star because he is game for challenges, but after his health scare last year Rajini is quite choosy about the projects. Moreover, his film Kochadaiyaan is into making.

Well, it’s not only Aamir Khan rooting for Rajini in Dhoom 3, but also producer Aditya Chopra. As a source is quoted as saying, “Aamir is working extremely hard on perfecting his body as he plays a gymnast in the film. He is the villain, but apparently there is scope for one more negative character in the film. And this is where everyone thought to take the Dhoom franchise to the next level, if they can get the superstar for this role it will really be bigger and better for the film.”

There is no doubt that Rajinikanth has a mass following, which is very tough to beat for any actor in B-Town. Also he is blessed with an awesome on-screen persona and has an impeccable style. Bollywood actors like Aishwarya Rai and Shahrukh Khan have already worked with him, whileDeepika Padukone managed her dates to sign a Rajini film, and now Aamir Khan is waiting in the queue.

It’s learnt that Aamir has always been an ardent admirer of the superstar, and would also like to share screen space with him.

Aamir Khan keeps his 'Dhoom 3' look simple!

Aamir Khan In Movie Dhoom 3

No zany hairdo. No bulging biceps. Aamir Khan keeps his look for Yash Raj Film’s Dhoom 3 simple and very basic. We reckon he plays a deceptive baddie.

Aamir Khan has started shooting for Dhoom 3 and says that he is keeping his looks simple for his anti-hero role in the actioner.

It has been reported that the actor was not happy with his hair style in the movie. But now he seems satisfied.

"I have started shooting for 'Dhoom 3' and this is my hair style for the film. It is not very different," Aamir Khan, who was sporting short cropped hair, told reporters Wednesday at a press conference at the Yash Raj Studios, where he is shooting the film.

Dressed in a grey track pants, pink T-shirt and Kolhapuri chappals, the actor was looking his casual best. He was also seen wearing studs in his ears.

"Dhoom 3" will also see Katrina Kaif along with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra who will be seen reprising roles of Jai Dixit and Ali.

The film is being produced by Aditya Chopra and written by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who had scripted earlier films as well.

Aamir Khan's midas touch for the Dhoom franchise

                                                       Aamir Khan in Dhoom -3

With the filming for Dhoom 3 underway, actor Uday Chopra feels that the pressure is on Aamir Khan to make the Dhoom franchise bigger.

Actor Uday Chopra hopes Aamir Khan's Midas touch works for the third "Dhoom" franchise. Aamir plays the bad man in Dhoom 3, which will see Abhishek Bachchan and Uday reprising their roles as Jai Dixit and Ali, respectively.

"Now the pressure is on Aamir. With Aamir, whatever he touches turns to gold and with him in a brand like 'Dhoom', it makes it bigger than anything else. We are all excited," Uday Chopra told IANS.

The first two movies of the "Dhoom" series found stupendous success. While John Abraham played the conman in the first instalment, released in 2004, Hrithik Roshan took the baton for the 2006 film "Dhoom 2".

Apart from Aamir Khan, the new entry in the "Dhoom" series is actress Katrina Kaif. Produced by Aditya Chopra, Dhoom 3 is slated to release in 2013.

Uday, who is focusing more on the Hollywood wing of his home banner, has been preparing for the movie. He even ended up in an accident while practicing a bike stunt called 'stoppie', but he says he is fine now.

"I was shooting for 'Dhoom' on the motorcycle and I sprained my leg. It wasn't that bad," he said.

Other than this, he says he doesn't need to prepare much because he has played the role twice and is comfortable with it now.

"I'm growing my hair and doing my own stunts. Luckily, I have done this role before, so I don't have to do too much of preparation. I just need to learn my lines and show up," he said.

Jai and Ali have been sporting the same look since "Dhoom" and "Dhoom 2" and will continue to do so in the next movie as well. Abhishek says its important to stick to the original characteristics of their parts.

"The film needs to cater to a select audience and has a loyal fan base. I don't think 'Dhoom' should go far away from that. Jai and Ali should not look completely different from what they have always looked," he said.

"I don't want to lose the image the audience has of Jai Dixit. If I come suddenly with a different body and different clothes, Jai will lose his characteristics. Minor cosmetic changes are fine, but I would not like to change Jai and Ali too much," Abhishek Bachchan said.

New hottie: Tabrett Bethell is the new 'Dhoom 3' girl

Tabrett Bethell is the new 'Dhoom 3

WELCOME TABRETT BETHELL

Just like her exotic name, this Australian beauty is insanely hot and drop-dead gorgeous. Yash Raj Films introduces to Bollywood the international TV actress Tabrett Bethell. The siren will be seen romancing Aamir Khan in the film Dhoom 3

Earlier there was a buzz that the makers were keen to cast Penelope Cruz or Natalie Portman or Eva Longoria as the female lead opposite Aamir Khan. However, it seems that the dream of casting an A-list Hollywood actress didn’t work out, and Tabrett Bethell was signed in for Dhoom 3.

Uday Chopra has already welcomed her on twitter, “Please welcome the lovely @TabrettBethell who joins the cast of Dhoom 3 today.” Since Aamir plays a villain and Katrina Kaif too has a character with grey shades, Tabrett Bethell will take the glamour bar up a notch with her alluring look.

Tabrett Bethell is a popular face on Australian TV; she is best known for portraying the character Cara in the television series Legend of the Seeker. Before taking the plunge into acting, she worked as a fashion model since she was 16. Tabrett Bethell was also a cheerleader for the National Rugby League (NRL).

Wondering about her unusual name! Actually, Tabrett is named after a street in Australia, something that happened when her parents disagreed on what to name her while she still was at the hospital. It’s learnt that her father went for a drive, saw the name of the street (Tabrett Street) and returned to the hospital to suggest it to her mother. Both finally agreed to name her Tabrett. The actress is said to be very close friends with her Legend of the Seeker co-actor, Bridget Regan.

Sneak Peek: Aamir Khan shoots for 'Dhoom 3' in Chicago

THE BADDIE AAMIR

Finally, Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan has begun shooting for the Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 3 and going by these first snaps from the shooting location in Chicago, USA, the superstar is set to play a slick baddie.

Think of Dhoom and among the first things that come to mind is bikes. True to the Dhoom brand’s style quotient, the shooting of the third film in the franchise started with the filming of bike scenes featuring Aamir Khan.

In the images that have made it to the net, thanks to the thriving Aamir Khan fan club, the superstar is seen riding a black BMW K 1200 R bike. Do note that the front wheel is taken off and the bike is fixed to a contraption behind a truck with the camera mounted on it.

Aamir Khan is seen all dressed in black.

Needless to mention that as soon as the word got around that Aamir was shooting for Dhoom 3, a number of Bollywood fans descended on the shooting location to see and meet the actor.

I'll miss directing 'Dhoom 3': Sanjay Gadhvi

                                                                      sanjay gadhvi

Moving away from the third instalment of the popular "Dhoom" franchise was a conscious decision for Sanjay Gadhvi, but the director admits he will definitely miss being a part of "Dhoom 3".

"Dhoom 3", a Yash Raj Films project, is being shot in Chicago with Aamir Khan in the lead and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, while Gadhvi is busy promoting his new film " Ajab Gazabb Lovein India.

"I will definitely miss being a part of 'Dhoom 3'as it is very close to my heart. There is so much warmth and affection related to it - whether its with Aditya Chopra or the cast. This is the film which gave me recognition," Gadhvi told IANS.

"It was a consious decision to not direct 'Dhoom 3' as I didn't want to get stuck in making the same kind of cinema. I didn't want to go on doing the same thing again and again," he added.

The previous two films of "Dhoom" franchise turned out to be blockbusters with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprising their roles as ACP Jai Dixit and Ali, respectively. Gadhvi hopes the third instalment becomes a bigger hit.

"If the makers of 'Dhoom' franchise believe that it has the potential to be made into a third film, it is a proud moment for me, and I wish that the third film is a bigger blockbuster than the previous two films," he added.

The director started his career in 2001 with "Tere Liye". He later went on to make films like"Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai", "Dhoom", "Dhoom 2" and "Kidnap". He has now helmed romantic comedy "Ajab Gazabb Love", which features Jackky Bhagnani and southern actress Neha Subbaiah.

It's a risk, but so what, says Gadhvi.

"I like to take risks. All the films that I have made so far are different from one another. Rather than just being experimental, I try to focus more on strategising," he said.

With "Ajab Gazabb Love", Gadhvi ventures into a new genre of romantic comedies.

"I am constantly searching for new things. I had been playing with the genre in some way or the other in my films, though not in a big way. I was toying with the idea of romantic comedies for long and when this script came to me, it appealed to me instantly and I agreed to helm it," he said.

It was announced that the composer of Dhoom and Dhoom 2, Pritam, will return once again to compose the music of the third installment.
Influence
The movie had a significant cultural impact among urban Indian youth. It was blamed for an increase in incidents of street racing, bike-borne theft & stunting on public roads. Besides, there was a new impetus to the bike-modifying scene with youth going in for modifications to their bikes ranging from free flow exhaust systems to addition of NOS kits. These, in turn, gave rise to incidents of speeding & breakage of traffic rules on the already unruly Indian streets.
Chelembra Bank Robbery
In Malappuram district of Kerala, four members of a group of criminals had cracked the floor of South Malabar Gramin Bank in the early hours on 30 December 2007 and looted INR 25 lakhs and 80 Kilograms of gold, a total worth of Rs. 8 crores, considered to be one of the biggest thefts in Kerala’s crime records. The Kerala Police have arrested four people in connection with this and the leader admitted that he was inspired by Dhoom.

On 2 February 2011, Yash Raj Films confirmed that the third installment of the series would go on floors at the end of 2011 and planned for a Christmas 2012 release. The film will feature Aamir Khan playing a negative character while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will reprise their roles. Dhoom 3 Speed will matter again

Dhoom 3 (Hindi: धूम ३ ;English: Blast 3) is an upcoming action thriller Hindi film, written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra. The film will feature the two main characters portrayed by Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra from the Dhoom series while Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif will play lead villains.

Development

On 2 January 2011, Aditya Chopra confirmed that the third installment of the Dhoom series would begin principal photography by the end of 2011. Initially, the producers and Aamir Khan wanted to release the film on Christmas of 2012,[6] but the plan was scrapped in favor of an early release date in 2013, mainly due to a forecast that a Christmas release would force a rushed post-production schedule, which was unfavorable given the high degree of technicality.[7]

3D Format

Reportedly Aditya Chopra, the producer of the film, wanted to make the film in 3D, feeling that the success of Haunted, Ra.One, Don 2 & Dangerous Ishq, showed that Indian audiences have opened up to 3D cinema viewing, however actor Aamir Khan was not convinced as he thinks "making a 3D film needs more expertise".[19] Some sources still maintain that the film will release in 3D.[20] However, as of September 2012, there is no conformation of a 3-D release from YRF studios.

IMAX Format

Dhoom 3 will be the first Indian film to be released for IMAX screens in India. It will be played on a limited number of enhanced IMAX screens using the Digital Media Remastering (DMR) technology, besides of course in 2D and 3D versions.Mail Today reported on Friday, the international company IMAX Corporation plans to open 14 specialised theatres all across India by 2014. These theatres will have IMAX screens that allow films to be projected on a far more gigantic scale than the big screen has ever known.
During his visit on Thursday, Greg Foster, chairman and president, IMAX Filmed Entertainment, revealed his company's immediate plans as far as India is concerned. Foster said IMAX was collaborating with several big Bollywood filmmakers to expand base for the IMAX technology.
"IMAX symbolises a high-quality filmwatching experience and this vision of the company works well with the ethos of YRF, which has been synonymous with film entertainment in India over the last four decades. We are indeed happy to announce our association with Dhoom 3," Yash Chopra said.
"This has added to the anticipated thrill that Dhoom 3 promises. The IMAX experience will give the film an all-new edgeof-the-seat dimension," Chopra added.
"With its rivetting action set pieces, global locales and stunning visuals, it is an ideal film to take advantage of our immersive format as we begin our initiative with Indian-language/Bollywood films," Foster said.
